Repost: Five Years by Corbett Barr
There will be an agreement in whatever variety of actions, so they be each honest and natural in their hour. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
What would you say to the person you were five years ago? What will you say to the person you’ll be in five years?
(Author: Corbett Barr)
Five years ago was 2006. I’d tell my 33-year-old self to not sign the mortgage. The long-term damage to her credit is not worth her family’s short-term security. Her live-in boyfriend with whom she traveled the world is also short-term. Her self-esteem is not worth the utter heartbreak in the end.
Five years from now, it’ll be 2016. I’d tell my 44-year-old self you did good. You married the man of your dreams, run a successful business you’re passionate about, and work with people you love. You live in home that clutter-free. Your parents will see you and your husband have children who are beautiful inside and out. #Trust30
