Men imagine that they communicate their virtue or vice only by overt actions, and do not see that virtue or vice emit a breath every moment. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Who is one person that you’ve been dying to connect with, but just haven’t had the courage to reach out to? First, reflect on why you want to get in touch with them. Then, reach out and set up a meeting.

Jami Music. She was one of 6 roommates during my wonderful 9-year stint at my Los Feliz apartment. (Clarification: Each roommate lived with me one at a time, not all at the same time.) She was about 5’1 and 300 lbs. We connected but we never went out together. She loved to eat, but never cooked. She was friendly and smiled all the time, but was unhappy inside.

We sporadically kept in touch after she moved out. A few emails and some long voicemails from her over the years. She finally left a miserable job and verbally abusive boss. She moved into a condo with her mother in Valley Village. I really wonder how she’s doing now. I want to know if she worked out her issues with her mother. Did she find a new job? If not, did she have to move out? I mostly want to know if she lost any weight. And if she sings. (She had a beautiful singing voice.)

I’ll send her an email when I get back from my trip.
